Mostly all of us has been using Tinyurl, bit.ly, or dot.tk to create small url from huge ones for a long time. They were always useful to get rid of giant urls. Now Google has launched a new service , Google short links, to do the same in a little Google way. Anyone using Google apps service, which is quiet popular to maintain email and other web services on an non-google domain, can use Google short links for free.

Special features:

Because its Google it had to have some special features than others. With Google Short links you can have your own new sub domain to run a short link url, like our domain is CyberFi.co.tv so we can have links.CyberFi.co.tv as main url. And you can chose the shorted part also, like we can have a shorted url links.CyberFi.co.tv/sms , because we want to have it like this not like others where shorted parts are randomly created by there servers.

Set up:

Its very easy to set up Short link for your domain. Go to Google Short links page( http://links.CyberFi.co.tv/googlesl ) and click on “Add it Now” then enter your Google apps Domain. Then type the sub domain for your Google short link (like shortlinks.yourdomain.com) . Then go to your domain panel to add a CNAME record. Type your sub domain in “Record Name” and “ghs.google.com” in Destination. Thats it.
