Search Engine giant Google is to launch an online bookstore dubbed Google Editions in early 2010. This new service will provide ebooks in a browser-centric, eReader-agnostic manner. Google Editions is very different from Google Book Search. This will make Google go head-to-head with Amazon.com and Barnes & Noble’s online presence. Google is planing to share the revenue from online book sales with the publishers. Books sold directly through Google Editions would pay out 63 percent to the publisher, with Google keeping the other 37 percent. But there is so much more to know about the project.
