Microsoft launched HotFix to fix the problem of ‘Black Screen of Death’ in Windows Vista. The problem was , when someone starts PC screen goes black and stop PC proceeding. This was a problem of many Windows Vista Service Pack 1 (SP1), Windows Vista Service Pack 2 (SP2), Windows Server 2008 and Windows Server 2008 Service Pack 2 (SP2) based PCs.

The reason of the problem was a fault in Windows NT File System driver (Ntfs.sys) and Autochk.exe files ?
In Microsoft’s words: “The issue occurs because of a deadlock between a thread in Windows NT File System driver (Ntfs.sys) and a thread in the Autochk.exe program.”
